Field Day of the Leite Seridó project brings together producers in Serra Negra

One day Production with exchange of experiences and updates on reproductive management and nutritional management in dairy farming. This was the Field Day of the Leite Seridó Project promoted by the Instituto Biosistêmico (IBS) and Sebrae in Rio Grande do Norte, on November 30th in the municipality of Serra Negra do Norte-RN.
The event was held at Fazenda Rolinha, owned by Bruno Batista de Faria, a producer served at Leite Seridó, who said he was very happy for the opportunity to share his experience in dairy farming with other producers in the project.
Bruno also highlighted the excellent results in the last round of Artificial Insemination in Fixed Time carried out by IBS in 2023, with 100% pregnancy rate of cows inseminated on his property.
The program started at 4pm, with a visit to the milking facilities and monitoring of the property's cheese and butter production. Afterwards, the lectures were opened with the participation of the director of IBS, Luís Henrichsen, and the manager of Sebrae/RN, Acácio Brito.
Producer Jarbas Farias, from Fazenda Bela Vista, shared his achievements and challenges in dairy production, during the "From producer to producer" moment, the first lecture on the program.
Next, it was the turn of the Agricultural Technician, Gilmara Santos, and IBS Technical Coordinator, Luiz Sartori, to present, respectively, the lectures "Palm: the green gold of Seridó" and "Cow star: the Formula of succsess".
At the end of the talks, the participants celebrated the end of the 2023 activities in the Leite Seridó project, in a lively gathering including grilled cheese, barbecue and lots of music.

An important moment for us to share the prosperity impact of our work for the sustainable development of dairy farming in the Seridó region”, highlights the director of IBS, Luís Henrichsen.
About the Seridó Milk Project
Designed and executed by the Instituto Biosistêmico, the Leite Seridó project is supported by resources from the Zoetis Foundation and Sebrae/RN. The initiative seeks to promote the development of dairy farming on a total of 100 properties, with a family farming profile, in the Seridó region, in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, Northeast region of Brazil.
It proposes a set of activities and technological assistance resources, structured and modulated into four thematic axes aimed at improving the production process: good practices, reproductive management, nutritional management and health management.
The project uses the CheckMilk methodology, which has a platform with a management system and application for technical teams and producers. The system facilitates project management and the application helps the producer on a daily basis, as support, an extension of IBS consultancy that can be accessed at any time in the palm of your hand.
